How It Works

Performing a caravan weight check is crucial to ensure that your caravan is within the safe weight limits and won't pose a risk to your vehicle's stability and your overall safety on the road.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you complete a caravan weight check:

Materials Needed:

Tow vehicle (with a full tank of fuel and any usual passengers/load)

Fully loaded caravan (including all items you plan to carry while traveling)

Accurate caravan weighing station (provided by Check My Weight)

Step 1: Prepare the Caravan and Tow Vehicle

Load the caravan with all the items you intend to take on your trip. This includes clothing, kitchen supplies, camping gear, food, water, and anything else you plan to bring. Ensure that the caravan is packed as you would for a typical journey.

Step 2: Fuel Up

Fill the tow vehicle's fuel tank to its normal level. This helps you get an accurate measurement of the overall weight when the vehicle is in its regular operating condition.

Step 3: Load the Tow Vehicle

Load the tow vehicle with any passengers, pets, and cargo that you would usually carry during a trip. This is important because the weight of the passengers and items in the tow vehicle also affects its overall stability and towing capacity.
